Lightweight Mullite Insulating Castable

Material System & Positioning

Lightweight mullite insulating castable uses mullite lightweight aggregate with bulk density 1.50 g/cm³, thermal conductivity ≤0.55 W/(m·K) at 800℃ and service up to 1500℃. Higher temperature rating and better hot strength than lightweight high-alumina grade make it suitable for petrochemical heater insulation. It is Henan Songrui's professional grade for high-temperature insulation.

• Low thermal conductivity: reduces shell heat loss and energy use.
• Better hot strength: superior to ordinary lightweight high-alumina, usable as transition layer.

Selection Advice

Choose lightweight mullite for insulation above 1400℃ or higher load softening requirements; lightweight high-alumina is more economical for general kiln insulation.

Installation & Maintenance

Mix and pour gently; heat up with staged holding to avoid explosive spalling from rapid steam release. Construction guidance available.
