Phosphate Bonded High Alumina Castable

Phosphate bonded high alumina castable is an unshaped refractory made from high-grade bauxite clinker as aggregate and fines, bonded with phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄) or mono-aluminum phosphate solution together with a suitable amount of accelerator. The phosphate reacts with the high alumina aggregate to form a strong bond after drying and heating, making it one of the most widely used chemically bonded castables for medium-temperature industrial kilns.

• High medium-temperature strength: strength increases remarkably after heat treatment at 300–1000°C, overcoming the weak medium-temperature strength of cement-bonded castables.
• Excellent thermal shock resistance: resistant to spalling and cracking in linings with frequent temperature fluctuations.
• Abrasion and erosion resistance: suitable for lining areas subjected to material wear and gas scouring.
• Good workability: can be cast, rammed or gunned to suit various on-site installation methods.
• Tailorable formulation: aggregate grading and binder dosage can be adjusted according to kiln type, service temperature and slag attack conditions.
