Material System & Positioning

Chrome-corundum castable incorporates chromia (Cr₂O₃ 3-8%) into a corundum matrix, with service up to 1750℃. Chromia markedly improves resistance to non-ferrous slags and molten metal; a high-viscosity slag film forms at temperature to inhibit slag penetration. It is Henan Songrui's dedicated grade for copper, aluminum and zinc smelting furnaces.

• Self-protecting slag film: high-viscosity film at temperature blocks slag penetration.
• High hot strength: CCS (110℃×24h) ≥85 MPa for bath and slag line zones.
• Erosion resistance: dense structure against metal stream and gas-flow erosion.

Selection Advice

Chrome-containing materials face environmental restrictions in some regions—verify local regulations before purchase. Chrome-corundum offers far stronger non-ferrous slag resistance than ordinary corundum; where chrome is restricted, evaluate chrome-free alternatives such as magnesia-spinel.

Installation & Maintenance

Use dust protection for chrome-bearing raw materials during installation and fire per the dedicated curve. Confirm service conditions and environmental compliance with Henan Songrui's technical team before selection.
