The arched roof suffered local burn-out and cracking under hot gas and molten splashes. Full demolition was costly and time-consuming, and the customer wanted repair without a full furnace shutdown.

The damaged zone was cleaned and re-anchored, then hot-repair ramming mix restored the geometry zone by zone, finished with a gunning material seal to reduce gas penetration while the furnace was kept warm.
