Circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers circulate large volumes of solids, so burner belts, cyclones, loop seals and ducts wear far faster than in PC boilers — ordinary high-alumina castables often wear through within months.
Selection: for wear zones prefer SiC or high-alumina-SiC low-cement castables, leveraging SiC hardness and oxidation resistance; add steel fibers in the hottest, most erosive zones for spalling resistance; use self-flow grades in thin, hard-to-vibrate wall linings.
Installation: densify anchor spacing to suit wear intensity, weld anchors firmly with anti-oxidation coating; cast in well-compacted layers; heat up slowly because SiC-bonded systems crack if heated too fast.
In operation, control bed pressure and fly-ash loading to reduce coarse-particle impact; measure thickness regularly and patch local wear when it exceeds the limit. We recommend wear-resistant grade and thickness based on boiler capacity, coal type and wear zone.
